This three-part study aimed to take stock of the sources of pressure that threatened the heritage value of the site’s architectural and urban complexes. This involved gathering, analysing, classifying and mapping this information and recommending solutions to guide, advise and illustrate challenges for the many partners of the Mission Bassin Minier. The study also developed a proposed heritage-monitoring design philosophy, a method for better understanding and planning around threats to this heritage without blocking its ongoing development.
