The 9th Meeting of the EUROM Network–Taking Stock of European Memory Policies will take place in Berlin on November 3 to 5 under the title Architectures of Discomfort, inviting participants to reflect on public memory as a form of collective heritage. This year’s meeting explores the dual nature of memory: its intangible dimension as a shared social and political process, and its material presence in monuments, buildings, landscapes and urban spaces that embody difficult and often contested pasts in an increasingly digital and fluid present.

Philippe Prost will speak on November 3, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM, alongside Architect and Professor Annalisa de Curtis, as part of the "Architecture for Memorial Heritage and Sites of Memory" roundtable.

At a time when land-use restraint and the climate emergency are placing existing structures at the heart of architectural practice, three architects share their perspectives on the art of preservation, rehabilitation, transformation, adaptation, and reuse. Drawing on their projects in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, they will discuss how they foster a dialogue between heritage and contemporary design, before opening a forward-looking debate: how do we (re)build upon what already exists? Key issues and future outlooks. An event to understand how the city is transforming in light of this new paradigm.

Plante & Cité is organizing a technical seminar titled "Reconciling Historic Heritage Preservation with Ecological and Landscape Considerations" on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Paris (Halle Pajol).

Aimed at local authorities and professionals in the fields of landscaping, heritage, and ecology, this event will mark the conclusion of the ARCHE research program. The day will feature a presentation of the program's findings, morning discussion sessions, and afternoon site visits in Paris.

During the session on "Biodiversity, Vegetation, Landscape, and Heritage," Lucas Monsaingeon, an architect, PhD in Architecture, associate at Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost, and associate lecturer at ENSA Normandie, will speak about the restoration of the Bastion Saint-Jaume in Antibes, specifically addressing the inclusion of a protected species the Moorish gecko (Tarentola mauritanica) in the restoration process.

"Le patrimoine, demain" (Heritage, tomorrow) is a podcast series produced by the student radio station Radio Campus Avignon.

Students take the microphone to meet the people who live in, think about, tell the stories of, and transform their city center. Accompanied and guided by Bénédicte Gandini, an architect and historian at the Le Corbusier Foundation, the entire AAPP team had the opportunity to visit the apartment-studio designed between 1931 and 1934 by Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret.

A meet-and-greet and book signing as part of the exhibition « Le château des photographes », starting at 3:00 p.m. at Caen Castle, to present our new book, which traces the castle’s history and transformations up to the present day, published in March 2026 by Les Édifiantes.

Featuring Aitor Ortiz’s precious photographs, this book unfolds like a catalogue of time and space. Texts by Bénédicte Guillot (an archaeologist), Jean-Marie Levesque (an historian), and Philippe Prost (an architect) appear in a seemingly random manner, prolonging the meaning of the images and revealing the profound, complex changes the site has experienced throughout his history.

Led by the President of the Republic, initiated by civil society organizations, and supported by the city of Paris, a project of national significance will soon take shape in the Trocadéro gardens, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. It will combine remembrance ans aesthetics in a space dedicated to reflection, contemplation and sharing. By displaying the first and last names of the 216,000 slaves who became free citizens after 1848 in Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin and La Réunion, this memorial pays tribute to all victims of colonial slavery.

As part of the Rivesaltes Camp Memorial’s 2025/2026 cultural and scientific program, Philippe Prost will give an open conference to the general public in Perpignan, at 6:30 p.m.

Titled « Architectural creation in there service of memory », it explores how architecture can serve the cause of remembrance and the design of a monument dedicated to peace and the memory of those who died in war. The conference will be co-hosted with Romain Passelac.

As part of the podcast series « Heritage, Tomorrow », dedicated to Avignon’s heritage and its future, the third episode, titled « Placing the city in the long term : Letting the walls speak : telling the city’s story better to make it better », features Philippe Prost and Jacques Chiffoleau, a medieval historian and president of the Society of Friend of the Palais des Papes.

Organized by the city of Avignon and Avignon University with support from UNESCO, this seminar is being held at the Palais des Papes in Avignon. It explores the challenges of adapting heritage gardens and landscapes to climate change.

The opening conference will be delivered by Philippe Prost on the theme « Toward heritage-based urban planning ». It will trace the origins of Avignon’s Preservatuib and Enhancement Plan (PSMV), from the Balance neighborhood to the Malraux law, and examine the evolution of regulatory frameworks toward a broader consideration of environmental and landscape issues.

The opening conference, titled « Toward heritage-based and bioclimatic urban planning », will be presented by Philippe Prost. Organized by the city of Avignon with support from AURAV, AAPP and Avignon University, the event explores strategies for adapting heritage areas to climate change.

Organized by the Korean Institute of Architects (KIA), the Korea International Architecture Festival 2025 will take place in Seoul, on Nodeul Island, from October 21 to 25, 2025, with France as the guest of honor. Philippe Prost will present « Au cœur de l’atelier » (At the heart of the studio), a contribution highlighting the Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost as place of research, collective practice and knowledge transfer.

As part of European heritage days, the city of Avignon is organizing a public meeting dedicated to the revision of the Preservation and Enhancement Plan (PSMV), followed by a conference by Philippe Prost on the history of the Balance neighborhood, France’s first designated preservation district.

After five years of construction, the Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost has unveiled the restoration and enhancement project for Caen Castle. This initiative marks a major milestone in the preservation and enhancement of this iconic historic monument.

177 years after the signing of the decree abolishing slavery, Paris will soon be home to a memorial dedicated to the memory of the victims. The winning design was created by a team comprising Michel Desvigne, Landscape Architect, and the Philippe Prost Architecture firm.

Jean-Pierre Serna, urban studies project manager, presented a comparative analysis of findings from his doctoral research in sociology and the work conducted over the past four years at the Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost on the theme « Memories beyond memorial practices. The making of urban projects between traces of the past and everyday practices ». He examines these very distinct contexts in Turkey and France to explore the relevance of the following questions : What does it mean to inhabit heritage ? And what does it mean to create heritage by inhabiting it ? What approaches and methods can enable us to rethink places of memory as hybrid spaces where collective memories and intimate experiences coexist ?

A team outing gave us the opportunity to witness the start of construction on the Grandes Écuries in Versailles, as well as to visit the exhibition « Keep it all/Change it all. Repairing and caring for cities », as part of the Bap !, where the model of the Cité des Électriciens was on display.

After more than four years of planning and construction, the Henri IV Middle School is preparing to welcome 400 students at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. Located on the city’s promontory, in the heart of Poitiers’ historic center, the school is about to embark on a new chapter.

The team led by Philippe Prost and Bruel Delmar was selected to redesign Place de la Concorde (8th arrondissement) on thursday, march 27, 2025. The goal is to enhance the site while adapting it to the challenges of climate change.

The Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine in Paris is dedicating an exhibition to the work of the Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost, winner of the 2022 National Architecture Grand Prize, whose distinctive work creates a dialogue between the memory of places and contemporary demands.

Organized by Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, and the Institut français, this exhibition is part of the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China. Presented in a bilingual format at Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Avenue in Jingdezhen, it brings together Franch and Chinese architects and urban planners, as well as academics from both countries.

Philippe Prost’s contribution focuses on the « Anneau de la mémoire » project, illustration the dialogue between heritage, landscape, and contemporary memory.

The Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost was unanimously selected by a jury composed of elected officials and experts for its « world-ship » project. The « L’hydro » project was developed in collaboration with David Lebreton of Designers Unit.

As part of an Erasmus+ funded program, several organizations across Europe decided to share their experiences regarding the resilience of fortifications in the face of climate change challenges. The first phase of the project took place in September 2024 with a study session in Suomenlinna, Finland, with the participation of AAPP.

On October 13, 2022, at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture, presented the 2022 National Grand Prize to the Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Prost, following the jury’s recommendation.
